Pears and Fears
Pears - The Personal Executive Assistant Regional Society - has been relaunched for 2010.
Set up in 2004 to provide Birmingham based PAs and senior secretaries with a regular opportunity to network, listen to key speakers and explore hospitality locations, our group meets on a bi-monthly basis at venues across the city.
2010 sees the introduction of a membership fee for the first time to allow Pears to continue to offer members a regular calendar of events while also supporting our nominated charity Round Table Children’s Wish, which helps make dreams come true for children with life threatening illnesses.
Established and run by the Brindleyplace marketing team, current Chair Kate Gregson, PR and marketing manager for Brindleyplace believes the new approach to Pears will help ensure its long term future:
“Since it was founded in 2004, Pears has gone from strength to strength with over 350 members at the end of last year. The society is widely recognised as the most formative networking group for PAs and senior secretaries in the city and alongside providing members with highly valued events it has also raised over £15,000 for charity.
Significantly cheaper than many networking groups in Birmingham, annual membership to Pears for 2010 is £40 for new members and £30 for existing members, £10 of which will be donated to Round Table Children’s Wish. Having also established a new committee for 2010, we aim to secure a range of high profile speakers for our bi-monthly events, with attendance and catering at each costing just a £5 charity donation.
